WORDS I LOVE TO HEAR
The words I love to hear
I long to hold so dear
The words I crave to hold
To capture in my soul,
yet never they unfold.
Like a butterfly escapes a net
His whispering wings flutter past still unmet
When anticipation sails and the dusk has journeyed to dawn,
the fisherman of words mimics the calm.
Hoping to reel in from a sea of hope,
the music to his ears he sees afloat.
The embellished tongue flatters like the grand entrance of a snowflake upon a glistening carpet of pearls.
Illuminating the heart like a twinkling star in the darkest of night.
They have their season, like autumn leaves dancing to the wind song of grace, spoken from my love’s face, and they land where they may.
The Words I love to hear
I long to hold so dear
The words I crave to hold
To capture in my soul
I pray that they’ll unfold
And reveal what’s left untold.
